My name is Maddie, not short for Madeline, and I am a speculative fiction writer (obviously).

I come from a military family so don’t really have a hometown to mention here, only that I’m a Chargers fan, went to Colorado State University (Go Rams), and will probably live and die somewhere on the east coast.

As a reader, I’ve always enjoyed the allegorical side of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Genuinely creative ideas and characters, not just the same 90’s epic fantasy hero recycled over the thin facade of a story structure. I like coming away from a story having felt something, be it horror, sadness, or wonder. I like being blown away with unique ideas (Stephen Erikson’s K’Chain Che’Malle just being velociraptors with swords for arms, for example). Or even something as simple and brave and human as the Ride of the Rohirrim.

So, as a writer, always trying to please the reader in me, I strive for this.

I’m not published and there’s no guarantee that I will be, but I at least wanted there to be some piece of me and my works somewhere, hence the existence of this site here.
